Grade Policy

HHSHA and ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY

The Hoosier League has very specific rules and regulations that apply to all recognized HHSHA member teams, both varsity and junior varsity, for all games during the season.

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY is handled in Section II, 2.1.C

"Players must have received passing grades in at least five (5) FULL CREDIT SUBJECTS or the equivalent during his/her last grading period, except that the semester grades take precedence at the end of a semester; and, must be currently enrolled in at least five full credit subjects or the equivalent."

The HHSHA will monitor Teams for Academic Eligibility. It is the responsibility of the Team Management and Coaching Staff's to collect copies of Report Cards from all of it's players upon completion of each grading period. If a team is audited by the HHSHA and they are not in compliance - the team will forfeit those games played where an ineligible player has been rostered. Please be sure that your players have passed 5 FULL CREDITS, many players may have passed 5 subjects, but one of those subjects could be a half credit, in this case that player would be ineligible to play.

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY ADDENDUM

Keith Epps is the Academic Compliance Officer for the Hoosier League. The League Board has unaminously resolved that ALL teams - both VARSITY and JV will submit their Rosters with copies of all the players report cards showing their grades across all grading periods up thru the last grading period in January. A majority of our member school systems Semesters end around the middle of January. The rosters and report cards should be received by Keith no later than February 1, 2006. If the rosters and report cards are not received, the team, player or players who are not in compliance will NOT be eligible to participate in the League Tournament. The report cards will be reviewed. Any games played with ineligible players will become FORFEIT and standings will be adjusted accordingly. It is the responsibility of each Teams coaching and administrative staffs to insure that the ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY requirement is met.

If there are any questions, please contact Keith for any clarification.
